Mo Konjic looks to have played his last game for Derby County who are in talks about settling up his contract, which expires in June.
The Bosnian who was told he was joining Derby by former City CEO Graham Hover in May 2004 has played once for the Rams this season and is suffering from a long standing eye problem.
Mo On His Way Out Of Derby
Derby boss Phil Brown told the DET:"Mo has had all the medical advice he could wish for from the club. "We have done everything we possibly can. "The specialists have come up with the same answer and there is a suggestion his career could be over. "There is an imbalance in his eye. The muscles at the top and bottom are causing double vision. Any kind of quick head movement is not allowing him to see a player or ball singularly. "That is a pity because we have been looking for a third centre-back and had one at the club but he has not been able to play. "If there is surgery that can help him, he can go down that line. That would be his call. "We are in talks with Mo and his people about settling his contract and it is in the best interests of both parties that we come to an agreement."
Konjic will now seek advice from specialists abroad before deciding his next move. Should he get his fitness back, Crewe and Plymouth are reported to be interested in the one-time Bosnian freedom fighter.
Meanwhile,Stockport County are interested in taking Gavin Strachan on a permanent basis if they can do a deal with his current club Hartlepool United.
