Mo Konjic has thanked City supporters as well as supporters of his current club Derby County, for the support given to him on Saturday.
He said: "I have been in bad situations before in my life but when I was told last week I needed a second operation and would be out for a long time I felt it was one of the blackest days of my life.
"I was very distressed and depressed but then I went to the game and heard the supporters.
"I want to thank those fans because they have made me determined and now I have a big will to save my career and play football again."
Meanwhile, Andrew Whing will have an operation for a hernia injury on Friday. The popular Sky Blues defender is likely to be out for five weeks.
