Mogga Appointment Gives Hope

Former Coventry City Academy Boss Greg Rioch tweeted on Saturday that the anchor that was holding the Sky Blues down has been lifted and he was right.

Ten days ago and it was all doom and gloom and talk of a League 2 tour but after a win over high flying MK Dons plus news that Tony Mowbray is to become the next manager of Coventry City, there is tonight, hope at a club where there has not been for a few years.

One has to question why a manager of the calibre of Tony Mowbray would want to manage a club like Coventry City which has learched from one crisis to another in recent times and one can understand the time it took to hammer out a deal, especially if you are dealing with Steve Waggott, Tim Fisher and Joy Seppala, but we are glad that the news came earlier tonight that terms had been agreed as it gives the club and City supporters the boost required.

One of those reasons might be that Mowbray might fancy the challenge of taking City back into the Championship but first things first, he will need to get the wins City need to confirm their place in League One next season.

Hopefully, he will possess the man management skills needed to get the best out of the players he has available in all matches and if he has, the City support can get back to the times when we all looked forward to going to matches, instead of looking for excuses not to go.
