Acting Coventry City Chairman Mike McGinnity has said that money will be available for Micky Adams to spend when the transfer market reopens in January.
The club's major shareholder told the CET: "We are looking at the situation and are currently in discussions with the bank.
"We can't expect anything significant but what we are determined to do is bring in quality players if we can. Micky has stressed that we need players who will make the team better, so they have to be people who are better than what we have got.
"We can't do anything until the New Year, but we are hopeful of having some positive news very soon."
