Covsupport has received information from a couple of different sources that Sky Blues right back Louis Carey was seen in a Bristol restaurant with Bristol City manager Brian Tinnion,Chairman Steve Landown and the players's agent last week.
As revealed on this site yesterday, Carey has not been able to sell his house in the Bristol area and does not like living in rented accommodation in the Midlands and would be interested in a move back to his former club.
With Andy Whing and Dean Leacock ready to take his place,Carey's departure could be sooner rather than later.
The defender has overcome a groin injury and hopes to be included in the squad to face Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
He told the CET: "I have seen a specialist and it is not a hernia, so I am pleased in that respect, but it is a muscle in that area which is causing a little bit of a problem.
"I have done a couple of runs and had an injection on Tuesday so I hope to be training on Thursday and Friday in time for the weekend. "If I get through training hopefully I will be in the squad and back in contention. I know the lads played well at Ipswich so it is going to be hard at the moment, so I just want to get back into the training."
