The Coventry Telegraph's Les Reid is reporting that there are more delays to the sale of the Brandon Stadium site.
The site seen as a possible venue for Coventry City's Academy after the club made a formal bid for the land and the stadium which is subject to an 'unconditional' deal and property consultants CBRE have said that they are continuing to look at four possible sites, all within six miles of the Council House in Coventry.
Speaking to Les Reid, a CBRE spokeswoman said: “In some ways the fact this has taken longer than expected means other options could be overtaking Brandon.”
“There have been positive discussions with another landowner.”
She added: “Our clients are pushing extremely hard for things to develop as quickly as possible.
“It’s not being drawn out by actions on this side but the speed other parties can work to.
“The development of the stadium will include a new academy and Steve Waggott (club development director) is leading that given his experience at Charlton.
“We’re looking at the economic impact and community benefits of this facility, whichever location is chosen.”
