Michael Doyle has been enouraged by Iain Dowie to score more goals this season. The midfielder, who is close to two hundred league appearances for the Sky Blues, hit a screamer against Preston on Saturday to keep City top of the league.
More Goals For Doyler Encouraged
"The manager has been on to me about breaking into the box, getting on the end of things and scoring more goals," said Doyle to the CT.
"In the last few years I've perhaps been sitting back more, but he's been pushing me to get forward. "I've tried to do that but things haven't been really falling for me or when they have I haven't been on target.
"But I know it's an important part of a midfielder's game so I'll keep trying. "That's up there with the best goals I've scored.
"I got a nice one against Cardiff a few years ago but I suppose to win the game five minutes from time makes it more special."
