Dele Adebola is hoping to score more goals for the Sky Blues next season if he can sort out the one year contract extension.
The Nigerian international who returned to the club a better player after a loan spell at Bradford told the CET: Micky Adams has done a brilliant job since he has come in and has certainly boosted my confidence.
"It hasn't taken a lot for me to start scoring a few more goals and hopefully that will continue if I stay. If I can sort something out with the club I am sure he will get the best out of me next season.
"The club is in a difficult financial situation and can't go giving out super contracts and I am sympathetic to that.
"Sometimes these things take time to sort out but hopefully something can be thrashed out and I am hopeful of staying at Coventry. Like every player in my position, I have to weigh up my options and look at what is best for me and my family. My agent will be speaking to the club and it is a delicate situation at the moment.
"But the manager wants me and is trying his best with limited resources. I have got other options but I don't particularly want to go and will hopefully make a decision in the next few weeks."
