Stuart Giddings has suffered more heartbreak on the road to recovery after the Coventry born defender broke down in training.
The 19-year-old has had a succession of operations on a knee injury which has kept him out of action since the summer, which culminated in a trip to see world-famous surgeon Dr Richard Steadman in Colorado last month.
But the procedure was not successful and Giddings will now undergo another operation in mid-December in a bid to overcome the problem. It a set-back for Giddings, who is rated as one of the Sky Blues' brightest young talents and has also come through the ranks of England's youth teams.
