According to the Sunday People, Blackburn,Tottenham and Southampton have joined the race to sign Calum Davenport.
They claim that Davenport has told City that he will not renew his contract when it expires at the end of this season and with the UEFA transfer window closing shortly, City Chairman Mike McGinnity wants to cash in expecting anyone interested to pay £3m for the England U21 defender, although players may be offered in some form of part exchange.
Many City supporters will not want such an influential player who has been proably the best player for City in the four league matches played so far, to be sold, viewing it as a sign that the club have given up any hope of a successful season.
However,if this news is true then City have no choice but to sell him.
