Former Coventry City forward/midfielder Andy Morrell has been named as the Vanarama Conference North manager of the month award for December.
Morrell who manages Tamworth, said in a Vanarama press statement: “I am delighted to pick up this award. December and Christmas is a very important part of the season and come away from that spell, winning every game, is a fantastic effort.
“It’s a credit to the staff and the players, everyone has played their part. “I am a big believer that success comes at a club from unity and from people pulling together – whether that’s from the tea lady to the players, the management and supporters. That togetherness is something we are looking to build here. “The points we have won and this award we have received just shows what you can achieve with hard work.”
The official award panel had this to say: "Andy has completely changed the structure and ethos of the Lambs since taking over the reins and has instilled in his squad the winning habit, which has proved beneficial in December taking the club from the depths of the divisions into the top half, with an impressive sequence of wins in the division.”
