Morrell Scores In Welsh Clash

Former Coventry City striker Andy Morrell scored for Wrexham in the all Welsh Conference game at Newport County.

Morrell netted in the 22nd minute for Wrexham, who fielded former City keeper Scott Shearer in goal. Daryl Knights equalised for Newport in the 88th minute to see the match finish in a 1-1 draw.

Craig Reid mised a 47th minute penalty which reduced Wrexham to ten men when Neil Ashton was sent off for a foul on Charles Henry.

Robbie Simpson played the whole of the game in Brentford 1-0's win over Sheffield Wednesday. Clinton Morrison was a 65th minute substitute for the Owls.
