"I went to see the manager last week and said I was disappointed that I wasn't playing. We hadn't played that well against Burnley and I thought he was going to make some changes against Derby so I thought I was going to come in,said Morrison to the CT.
"But I am not the sort of person who is going to a football club to sit on the bench and pick up his wages and not play football.
"He explained his reasons and, although I agreed with the majority of things, I didn't agree with everything. But he said he would give me a chance again and he said the best way to answer him was to go on and score a goal like I did.
"Maybe a few years ago I might have been different and ranting and raving at him, but as you get older you grow up and realise there is only going to be one winner and that's the manager.
"I have got respect for him and what he is trying to achieve at this club. He is one of the better managers I have played for throughout my career because he just wants to play football."
