Former Coventry City striker Clinton Morrison is wanted by Carlisle United and Hartlepool United.
The much travelled striker had been on trial at Hartlepool United but they have sacked manager Colin Cooper and Graham Kavanagh who had Morrison on trial at Carlisle is now the favourite for the Hartlepool job.
Carlisle are still reported as being interested in giving a contract to the former Republic Of Ireland international.
