Tony Mowbray has said that his contract with Coventry City to manage the Sky Blues until the end of the season will let him see how the club functions.
Mowbray signed a deal until the end of the season and will if he is happy with everything then negotiate a deal for next season.
The 51 year old told Tom Bloomfield at the press conference: "The contract allows me to see how the club functions, there is potential for a much longer period ahead.
"I could have been in management a lot sooner than now, but I took time off. I wanted to spend time with my kids.
"I'm now back in what I do, it is a big challenge. It's a fabulous opportunity for me, I'm here to light that torch and put Coventry back where they should be.
"It's a big, big ask, hopefully we can break the ceilings that are there and unite the fans.
"The fans are there at home waiting, it's my job to ignite the passion that is inside of them and to make them proud again, it's a game of the people, let's forget the money."
