Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that Ben Turner fits his criteria of the defender he wants.
Turner was excellent in the 57 minutes he played in City's 4-1 win over Gillingham and speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “We needed a certain type of player when Reda got injured and Ben fits that criteria.
“He’s dominant, he doesn’t lose many headers so the ball goes back towards their goal rather than being flicked on towards our’s. He’s strong, he knows how to use his body, he moves the line up when the ball goes forward.
“He’s just a good footballer really. There are things he can’t do - he’s not the most agile or fastest footballer in the world – but he knows the game, he’s strong, he uses his voice, dictates to people around him and just does his job.
“He’s similar to myself really!”
