Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that he accepts the defeat on penalties to League Two Yeovil Town in the Johnstone's Paint Second Round and willl take it on the chin.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner after the 0-0 draw and then the 4-3 defeat on penalties which saw Lateef Elford-Alliyu and and Sam Ricketts have their spot kicks saved, the City boss said: "Anyone who watched the game could see the first half wasn’t a problem. We totally dominated the football, created chances and played the game in their half. We just didn’t stick the ball in the back of the net. We just had to keep it going but we didn’t find the same levels in the second half.
“Reice Charles-Cook is a top quality young goalkeeper. He’s faced nine penalties so far this season and it’s just disappointing to go out of two competitions that way.
“We have to accept it, take it on the chin and move on to the weekend.
“If I want to take a positive, we didn’t lose a football match over 90 minutes. It was a clean sheet and the experienced players stood up and gave us a level of control I would expect. I am just disappointed we didn’t maintain our levels for 90 minutes and put the ball in the back of the net.”
