Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray feels that if Adam Armstrong, Ryan Kent and Jacob Murphy can all hit form together then they can frighten some teams in League One.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph, Mowbray said: “They are starting to gel together and when they do they can be a frightening proposition for some teams in this league.
“We got into some fantastic positions but we made it more nervous than we needed to. We could have been out of sight in the first half, the number of opportunities we had on the break – the analyst tells me we had 24 shots so to only score one goal is something we need to work on.
“At times we maybe made the wrong decisions. But I thought it was an exciting performance – you could see everything about the young players we’ve got here, the dynamic movement they’ve got.
“Adam Armstrong was feeling if after not scoring for three or four games and he shouldn’t have that pressure on him at 18 years of age.
“Ryan showed everybody what an exciting talent he can be and Jacob was outstanding. If you saw his last game you wouldn’t think he was capable of a performance like that but there you go – they’re young footballers and hopefully the supporters will be patient with them.
“Their form will dip but they’re here so we can develop them as footballers. Sometimes that means shouting at them at half-time and that can shake them up a bit because they don’t get that in Under-21s football.”
