Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray is hoping to have a new central defender in place before Saturday's League One trip to Colchester United.
The City boss, who has had Mark Venus making calls aplenty in order to try and bring someone of the right calibre in, told Keiran Crowley: "As we know, Reda Johnson is a huge miss for this football club and we're finding it pretty tough to find the right player to come in and replace him.
"We're looking everywhere and trying to find the right player to come in and help us defend those situations much better than we currently are.
"The search will continue next week and hopefully we'll have found the right player before the Colchester game."
