Mowbray Not Panicing After Scunthorpe Defeat

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray is not pushing the panic button after City's 1-0 defeat at Scunthorpe United.

Many of the 991 City supporters felt it was the worst performance of the league season so far and but Tony mowbray told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner that he was not panicing and said:  “We’re not even thinking about that word!

“We have to accept that we have a young team and we are trying to build something, especially in the forward areas, but inconsistency is the main thing you get with young players.

“When they’re on it we look fit and fast and athletic and there will be games where we rip teams to bits, dancing through and scoring loads of goals.

“But there will also be days like this when it’s a stodgy game, not a lot happening, their physicality gets on top of us and it looks a bit as if it’s boys out there on the pitch.

“There are times when we lack that little bit of physicality but we’re just trying to build a team with what we’ve got and I have to say that for a young group of players they are doing fantastically well. We have got to keep faith with them, keep going, tell them what we think is missing.”
