Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that Conor Thomas can train with the Sky Blues during pre-season if he has not got a club.
Speaking about the midfielder to the Coventry Telegraph, Mowbray said: “I think Conor’s been unlucky this year because he started the pre-season really well and as a coaching staff we were really excited by him and looking forward to seeing if he could break in and then he got his concussions and then his injury was dragging him down.
“I think he needs a fresh start and a new challenge, but I have told Conor that if he’s not set up, not found a club that he can come and do pre-season with us. I like him, like his personality and he’s a good kid.
“It’s harsh to say he’s not getting offered anything and yet I have to do what’s right for the team and this football club. And yet on a human level, as with Aaron Phillips, it’s very difficult to say I think it’s best you go and get your career started.”
