Mowbray Wants To Know Where The Club Wants To Go

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray will demand answers from SISU boss Joy Seppala as to what is the club's ambition when they meet today.

Mowbray told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “It’s not about contract talks, I would have to say.

“It’s not a contract discussion, it’s an infrastructure, foundation discussion – where does the football club want to go, what does it want to do?

“If they’re happy to plod along with the same scenario as it has got going at the moment then I’m probably not the right man because I like structure, I like organisation and I like processes behind the scenes.

"Then I let people do their jobs but they have a process – so if it’s to find footballers in a scouting department, that’s their job, and then they show me the ones they like and who fits the model of what we lay down for them.

“I need to pick and choose them because the buck stops here with me standing in the technical area. If we’re getting beat it’s the fans who are shouting at me, the don’t shout at directors or players.

"They might moan at them but it’s always the manager who pays the cost and the manager, in my opinion, should have the final say on who you sign.

“There has to be processes put in place, put them in front of me and then let me make the decision of the ones that you choose.

"We’re at the bottom end of the league and could have got relegated on the last day of the season so something’s hugely wrong and it needs to change.

“I can see what’s wrong but it’s whether the owners want to make the changes to make this club better and strong to move forward.

“So I won’t be staying on if things don’t change.”
