Mowbray Warns Against Getting Carried Away

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has warned that no-one should get carried away with thw Sky Blues being top of League One after wins against Wigan Athletic and Millwall.

Mowbray told the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole: “Let’s not get carried away.

“Two years on the bounce at Middlesbrough we were top of the table at New Year’s Day but we missed the play-offs both times and I got sacked.

“It’s two games into the season and there’s a long, long way to go and we’re just trying to put the jigsaw puzzle together, add the components that will make us a good side. We’re building it bit by bit.

“At the moment we don’t have a 6ft 2ins centre-forward for the days when we want to go direct and get the ball around the edge of their box quickly. But it’s hard to sign someone like that, sell him the way we want to play, which most weeks will be with technical players, playing one-twos and going round the corner.”
