While the wait for the new Coventry City manager goes on, it has emerged that one of the front runners has not formally applied for the job.
Tony Mowbray, it is believed, has not yet applied for the vacant managers post at Coventry even though the chairman Ray Ranson has confirmed he has received many high calibre applications.
Mowbray is a popular choice among Sky Blue fans, though not universally acclaimed because of his failure at Celtic. There are many Coventry fans who remember the exciting attacking style of West Bromwich Albion under the stewardship of Mowbray.
Mowbray still lives at Knowle near Solihull, so he is conveniently placed to take over at The Ricoh and a source close to Mowbray has said, "He'd love the Coventry job, it is A1 perfect for him. He's a proven manager in the Championship and it is right on his doorstep."
In the way of things in football, Coventry City have recently announced a pre season friendly match against the Premiership new boys, West Brom at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday, July 31st, kick off at 3pm. If Mowbray is at the helm at Coventry then, it will add a little extra sparkle to the occasion.
