An MP has said that there is no reason for third kits.
Coventry City have needed a third kit (last season and the season's before yellow shirts and navy shorts kit) this season due to the all white away kit which was chosen by City boss Steven Pressley, clashing with the colours of the opposition and forcing City to appear in a mix of home and away kits as they did at Crewe or in last season's away kit which the U21's wore at QPR on Monday night, whilst some clubs have just brought out a third kit in order to make money.
MP Tim Farron, the MP for Wesmorland and Lonsdale said to the BBC about clubs with third kits: "You don't have to be a genius to work out a sensible colour for your second kit that would make sure you don't clash.
"There is no reason whatsoever for a third kit. They are pointless and just another example of clubs fleecing football fans. It is all about making money for a few people.
"Legislation is not the answer. There needs to be a radical upheaval of the game and we should move to the German model."
