Former Coventry City keeper Marton Fulop who is set to face the Sky Blues this afternoon for Ipswich Town at Portman Road has admitted that his dad was in the 1981 classic footballing film "Escape To Victory"
Fulop's dad Ferenc played centre forward for the Nazi football team that took on the Allied Prisoner Of War team which included Ipswich players such as former Sky Blue employee John Wark, Kevin Beattie as well the likes of Pele, Sylvester Stallone and Michael Caine.
"When I arrived at Ipswich, I came across John Walk who is one of the biggest players in the club's history and I talked to him about the film which featured a few Ipswich players and my dad, said Fulop to the CT.
"Hopefully, my dad will meet a few of them and chat about it some time, so that has been a nice part of joining the club.
"I have seen the film a few times and I have a picture of my father standing alongside Pele so that is a great memory for my family. My dad was a good player and was in the Hungarian World Cup squad in 1978 although unfortunately didn't play."
