Christian Negouai has said he rejected a trial with Sheffield United to move to Coventry for a month.
He told Sky Blue World: "I'm not in the first-team plans at Manchester City and that's why I've tried to move somewhere else.
"Sheffield United were also interested and they wanted me to go on trial for two days but I didn't want that and that's why I came to Coventry.
There's a good manager, good players and I hope I can do well here."
"It had been a long time since I've played a full game. I didn't know anybody because I didn't join up with the squad until the night before the Newcastle game. It was tough for me but I enjoyed playing for Coventry.
"Personally, I didn't think I played well but some people said to me that I did. Sometimes when you're out for a long time your fitness suffers but I don't feel I need to work on my fitness, I think I just need to play some full games to get at my best level.
"It is only my second game I've started this season. Coming to Coventry is a good opportunity to show what I can do. "
