Jordan Ponticelli has signed a new deal with Coventry City.
The youngster who joined City from the Strachan Foundation and banged in the goals for City U18's last season, which saw the striker finish as top scorer in the division and City winning the League Two South title.
Ponticelli scored his first goal for City U23's in the final game of last season with a goal in the final seconds of a win over Millwall and has been amongst the goals for the U23's this season, as well as netting for City's first team in pre-season.
So far this season, Ponticelli has only appeared as a 63rd minute substitute in the League Cup tie at home to Blackburn Rovers but has been on the bench on a number of times including last Saturday's defeat at Cambridge United.
Jordan Ponticelli has signed, subject to ratification by the Football League, a four year deal with the Sky Blues, who also have the option of offering him an extra year.
Speaking to Billie Marshall about Ponticelli's new deal, City manager Mark Robins said: "It's important that the club has taken this step to secure the future of Jordan.
"He has shown some real promise, scoring regularly for the Academy before stepping up and continuing that with the Development side.
"He came back for pre-season in great shape and scored a few goals. I know there is enough promise to warrant this length of contract.
"I look forward to working with him further and watching his development as he aims to break through to the senior side."
Ponticelli tweeted: "Delighted to have signed a new contract for @Coventry_City ! Hard work has paid off but will continue, this is just the start!
