Coventry City Football Club have announced who will replace Cassidy Developments as the official club sponsors.
City Link have signed a three year, £1m deal, the biggest in the club's history and will see City Link's name on the club's home and away kits, training kits and all other player wear.
Commercial Director at Coventry City, Nathan Kosky said to Sky Blue Player, "This is very good news for all parties. We are taking our relationship with City Link to a new level and its support will be a key part of the club's development over the next few years and hopefully beyond."
"At the same time, we are sure our growing profile nationally and internationally will help City Link achieve its own business goals.Business is about relationships and we have worked increasingly closely with City Link over the last year or so. That has gone extremely well for both organisations and this deal takes the relationship to a new level."
The new deal will begin from the start of the 2010/11 season and replaces the current five year sponsorship of Cassidy Developments, who announced earlier this year that their sponsorship of their hometown club would not be renewed.
City Link is a nationally based company and a subsidiary of Rentokil Initial, They opened a new depot in Coventry 18 months ago and recently announced it would consolidate its national hub operations in Coventry and so will become centre for the company's UK activities.
City Link employ more than 5,000 people across the UK. The three year deal reflects City Link's desire to to increase its brand and profile in the area and to raise the company profile across the country.
The deal came about through the links of Club associate director John Clarke, who's public relations company Century have City Link as clients.
John Clarke said, "This is a great marriage between the club and City Link which we hope will go on for years to come."
The Managing Director of City Link , Stuart Godman said, "We are delighted to have reached agreement with Coventry City to be, come club and shirt sponsor from next season. This sponsorship is very much a natural fit between our two organisations."
