Chris Coleman's hope of signing a new striker on loan in time for tonights home game with Nottingham Forest have run out of time.
The City manager had high hopes of getting two strikers at the club for the rest of the season, one of which he had hoped would be in time to go straight into tonights squad.
Since the departure of Leon Best to Newcastle, the Sky Blues have only two recognised senior strikers available.
Legendary City goalkeeper Steve Ogrizovic, now the club goal keeping coach, said, It is on going. We are still trying to get players in and we will just have to see what happens as the week goes on. I would imagine that it will be difficult for someone to go straight in if they haven’t trained with the lads, unless it is Ronaldo of course.”
"Our problem has been conceding late goals and it is a difficult league and you can’t always kill teams off. We are not the biggest side in the world but we have probably defended quite well from set pieces. Tonight will be no different and Forest will be tough, in form and confident and looking to come here to enhance their chances of going up."
“We have got aspirations ourselves to be up in the Premiership and to do that we have got to be where Forest are themselves.”
