According to reports, Newcastle United could be making a bid for Coventry City defender Cyrus Christie when the transfer window re-opens in January.
It is no secret that Premier League clubs including Newcastle, Liverpool and Manchester City have been sending scouts to watch some City players and even the U18's game on Saturday against Birmingham City was watched by scouts from Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal.
The Mirror are claiming that "Newcastle could take advantage of Coventry's financial woes and make an attempt to bring Christie to St James' Park in January."
Other reports also cite Stoke City as being interested in the Coventry born defender who has come through the clubs ranks and is under contract until June 2013.
