Coventry City Ladies coach Craig Nicholls has admitted to being pleased with his side's 2-0 victory over Newcastle United.
Speaking to Matty Roper, Nicholls said: "Overall I'm really pleased with the result and a clean sheet which always boosts confidence. We played some good football throughout but I think we were perhaps pulled down in some aspects due to their level, with a difficult surface also hindering our passing ethos. Three points is the main thing though and two great goals secured them, we are past the 30 point mark now which is good to see at this stage."
Scorer of both Coventry goals, Amber Hughes, also added: "It was a tough game in tough conditions but I think we battled well as a team from start to finish.
"I am delighted to get on the scoresheet again and I think we can take a lot of positives from the game, we are looking really sharp and quality as a team in training and games so i'm really looking forward to the rest of the season."
