Coventry City will be without Callum Ball for a while after the loanee from Derby County chipped a bone in his right ankle.
Ball, who has scored three goals for City this season, picked up the injury on Friday and is expected to be out for the Christmas period.
"His foot is in a boot because a bit of bone has chipped away from his ankle," said Mark Robins to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner.
"The first word I heard was a fracture but all I know is he’s going to see a specialist and going be out for a period of time but that is undefined at the moment.
"He limped out of training on Friday with pain, had a scan which showed a bit a bone has come away so it has either just occurred or been a longer standing problem."
