Reports yesterday suggested that Ipswich Town had submitted a bid for Coventry City''s player of the year, Richard Keogh, but it has now emerged that no bid has been made by Ipswich.
However a bid has not been ruled out and interest in the defender is expected to be high. Keogh has one year left on his Coventry City contract and would command a fee should he leave the club, but Andy Thorn is desperate to keep Keogh to help the club bounce back into the Championship as quickly as possible.
In addition to Ipswich, Leeds United and Cardiff City are also said to be interested in prising Keogh away from The Ricoh Arena.
Coventry City''s acting chief Tim Fisher said to the CT's Andy Turner: “He’s [Keogh] a good player and there will be intense pressure from outside to extract him."
"There is always a figure X but it would have to be a big figure; I think the value of Richard staying would far outweigh little bit of cash with money on appearances."
