Colchester United have responded to media speculation surrounding their left back Marc Tierney.
The U's have said there have been no bids for the 24 year old defender from any of the clubs linked with him.
Boothroyd knows all about Tierney and his contract extension talks and is thought to be keen on signing the highly rated left back.
Norwich, Middlesbrough and Sheffield United are all thought to be interested in Tierney, but Colchester United chairman Robbie Cowling told the Vital Football, "Obviously Mark is in the last year of his contract. Again, we`ve offered him improved terms are hopefully he`s going to accept those and stay with the club."
If they player rejects their improved offer, he will almost certainly be sold.
