Coventry City CEO Steve Waggott has told the Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter that no date has been set for an announcement about whether Tony Mowbray will continue to manage the Sky Blues.
With many City supporters waiting to see if Mowbray is staying before parting with their money for a season ticket, Mr Waggott told Steve Carpenter: “Tony has really enjoyed being back in football and doing the day-to-day stuff.
“Survival was the key objective but he sees the potential at this club and there’s an opportunity for a big challenge ahead.
“We had hoped that our status in League One would be guaranteed before Sunday, preferably after Crewe, so that we could begin negotiations sooner, but that wasn’t the case.
“Tony has to have the right structure in place to build a successful team. The talks have been centred around resources, structure and backroom staff - how well can the money available be used for scouting and recruitment.
“Tony has come back into football and a lot of clubs will no doubt have him on their radar. But he’s had time to evaluate the players and hopefully build something successful at Coventry.”
