51 years...I repeat 51 years!
I wasn't even born the last time we weren't in the second round of the FA Cup.
I can't remember a top 6 finish. We've never even been in the play offs.
I must be paying for my sins in a previous life. I know it's only football but boy Cov City fans have it tough.
I'm not even from Cov so my Uncle has a lot to answer for taking me to watch Cov many moons ago.
Worcester was bad but it's not just one game, it's a life time of woe since 87.
What is it with Cov? Every time there's a slight light at the end of the tunnel we appear to slam the door shut.
We've got great support, particularly away from home who just keep on coming back for more! Do we enjoy disappointment or is it in some mad belief that one day when we turn the corner we can say "we were there"?
I keep thinking there must be better things to do? But I then I could have been a Leicester or Villa fan and we all know what we think of Leicester!!! Suddenly life ain't that bad.
Also instead of going to a 2nd round FA Cup match this year I can go Christmas shopping instead....I can get all my presents wrapped up and cards wrote. Im really looking forward to it.
So to everyone at the Club I would like to say a big thanks and wish you a merry, merry Christmas and whilst I'm out shopping if I come across some heart and passion I'm going to buy you some. That way we might just get into the Play Offs and you give the long suffering fans something to cheer about for a change.
Happy Christmas
Santa
