Derby County boss Nigel Clough has said that there is not a lot of point of James Bailey sitting on Derby's bench when he could be getting games for Coventry City.
Speaking to the Derby Telegraph, Clough said; "Coventry want to do something for the rest of the season and the clubs are in negotiations.
"It could be a loan with a view to a permanent move in the summer. We will see.
"There's no point him sitting on our bench and with the central midfielders we've got, it would be difficult for him to get back in.
"James has had two and a half years with us now and hasn't really kicked on as much as we'd hoped, while others have come through and gone ahead of him.
"We still think he's got the potential to play in the Championship but Coventry are still a big club and they've got every chance of getting back up this season."
