The deal to take Elliott Ward to Southampton has fallen through.
The Saints had offered the Coventy City defender an eighteen month contract at St Marys and Ward was at the Ricoh Arena saying his goodbyes on Tuesday night.
However, Southampton signed Danny Seabourne from Exeter City instead and pulled the plug on the deal which has left the Sky Blues Chairman Ray Ranson, who was trying to off-load one of the biggest wage earners, fuming, according to reports.
