Former Coventry City youngster and Academy Coach Mark Noon has said that he leaves Nuneaton Town with a heavy heart.
Noon has left the Conference Premier Division side after the appointment of former City defender Liam Daish as manager and speaking to Andy Turner of the Coventry Telegraph, Noon said: “I had some discussions with chief executive Ian Neale and chairman Lee Thorn and it was my decision and just feel it’s right to move on.
“I just think it’s right for the benefit of the football club and moving it forward.
“I do so with a heavy heart but I have got nothing but good things to say about the club.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time at Nuneaton where we’ve had some real success. There aren’t many football clubs that can look back on their ten years and boast what Nuneaton have done.
“It’s been absolutely fantastic and I think the club will continue to progress and I certainly hope they do really, really well.
“The players, staff and supporters make the club what it is and long may that continue because it’s a really good club that’s been a massive part of my life.”
“I’d have to say promotion to the Conference. I know the FA Cup runs were great and raised the profile of the football club but that promotion was huge. When I first went there they were a Conference North side.
“We maybe over achieved given the size of budgets of clubs we were up against but we had a fantastic group of players there, as there always has been since I’ve been there.”
