Speaking to the CT, the City Chairman said: "I am sure that over a period of time Aidy will want to put his own imprint on the football club and rightly so I will support him in that.,but there will be no wholesale changes in the backroom and there are no immediate plans to bring in anyone else."
"There has been a hell of a lot of work done here both on and off the pitch over the last two and a half years and we wanted someone who was going to come in and work with what we have got and what we have done.
"We have got a good staff in place so it was all about getting the captain of the ship, somebody who could take us to the next level. He is a very confident young man which is what I like about him. I have got to know him very well over the last few days and he is very enthusiastic about the opportunity, rightly so because it is a great job for someone."
"He has looked round the Ricoh and been to the training ground and he can't wait to get started."
