Leon Best is now only rated as doubtful for Saturday's opening league game of the season at Barnsley. The striker sustained a sore knee during the defeat against Udinese and is unlikely to be fit enough to play.

Said Iain Dowie: "Besty has got a bit of a sore knee from the weekend and didn't train in the early part of the week, so he is the only fresh doubt for Saturday. "I'll pick the front two on merit. "It is not a matter of reputations and in my mind I know who the two are and I don't think too many people can complain because they have done well all pre-season. "But they have all done well to be fair.

Unlike the right back position,Dowie has plenty of options and will announce his team just before 2pm on Saturday.
