Seemingly thwarted by Stoke City's Board who want £100,000 for Carl Asaba,Micky Adams is rumoured to be chasing Gillingham striker Darren Byfield.

The former Villa forward played in Gillingham's 1-0 defeat at home to West Ham which keeps the Sky Blues four points clear of the relegation zone.

City did drop one place in the Championship table though as Plymouth beat Sheffield United 3-0.

With Cardiff losing at home to Millwall 1-0 in a stormy affair which saw three players sent off, victory for City over Wigan would lift them up the table.
