Coventry City's pre season friendly at Nuneaton last Wednesday was a low key affair according to City boss Aidy Boothroyd.
Despite a dour game and the 0-0 scoreline Boothroyd was pleased with the effort and performance of his players.
He said to the CT: "It was a low key affair but it was a Cup Final for Nuneaton who played with a back five and then a back seven, but I am not knocking that because you have got to get results and that's fine. For us it was a good workout and a good tester because we had to work hard to break them down and at this stage of the pre-season we weren't quite good enough to do that."
"That's fine but we had a couple cleared off the line, a couple of chances from set pieces and a couple of shots and that's it, but that's what you expect because things are only just starting to come together. It was good for me to see a lot of our boys and these are good games for me because I get a good look at people."
Boothroyd takes his players to Hinkley on Saturday afternoon for the next round of pre season friendlies. Kick off 3:00pm
