Roy O'Donovan is to get his chance with Coventry City's first team says City Boss Mark Robins.
The leading scorer for City U21's, has only made nine starts (11 sub appearances) since he was signed by Aidy Boothroyd but the City manager feels that O'Donovan is ready for his chance and said to the CT's Andy Turner: “Roy gives me what I need from the squad,
“I wanted to get him involved in a first-team game at some point because he’s another consideration and as long as he carries on working like he is at the moment he will always be an option.
“There are people ahead of him at the moment – Cody McDonald, for instance, who would probably have started on Saturday if he hadn’t been ill in the week – but he’s got to be ready to step in if anybody’s form dips. “And that goes for everybody in the squad – when a chance comes along they’ve all got to be ready to grab it with both hands.
“Roy’s got goals in him in this division – he proved that when he was at Hartlepool."
