O'Halloran injured his back in City's opening British friendly at Nuneaton Town and has only recently been available for selection.
But after playing against Crystal Palace last week, the former Aston Villa player wants more appearances.
"I had a little taste at the weekend so I hope I'll get another chance," said O'Halloran to Sky Blue Player at the club's weekly press conference.
"After all the expectations of pre-season I hurt my back and was out for a while. But I'm lucky enough to have got myself back in and hopefully I'll keep my place on the team.
"I had a good first two or three weeks and then came back from Austria and did my back in the Nuneaton game. You've got to work hard to get yourself back, and hopefully I can stay fit now."
Speaking about the ninety minutes he played last Saturday, O'Halloran commented: "It was hard obviously because it was my first game in five months so I tried my best to get through the 90 minutes.
"I had a little ten-minute spell at the end but besides that I thought I did okay and hopefully I can push on now after this. We've been looking forward to the Sheffield United game this weekend and hopefully we can get our league form back."
