The twelve football matches played as part of the London 2012 Olympic Games football tournaments brought in around £50m to Coventry & Warwickshire businesses, a Coventry Chamber of Commerce CEO has said.
Speaking to the CT's Mary Griffin, Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber Of Commerce CEO Louise Bennett said: "I have seen forecasts of £50m to Coventry & Warwickshire's economy.
"Obviously, it is extremely difficult to provide an exact figure but when you look at the fact that we hosted matches, the torch was made here and many other businesses won contracts, it has been a major boost."
