On this day in 1962, there was the first airing of 'The Sky Blue Song'.

Jimmy Hill sung the song which he had co-written with former Director John Camkin on the pitch prior to the game against Colchester United at Highfield Road

The words to the song were printed in the matchday programme for the first time and were as follows:

"Let's all sing together,

Play up Sky Blues,

While we sing together,

We will never lose.

Proud Posh or Cobblers,

Oysters or anyone,

They can't defeat us,

We'll fight till the game is won.".

Ten former players including including Dietmar Bruck, Bob Wesson and John Williams joined in at half time during the game with Preston North End at the Ricoh Arena in December 2012 at the 50th anniversary of the song being launched.

A rather famous version of the song from 1967
