Coventry City Chairman Ray Ranson has urged City supporters to get up the Ricoh for the games against Bristol City tomorrow and Tuesday's League Cup 2nd Round clash with Premier League Newcastle United.

Said Mr Ranson to the CT: "I cannot tell you how grateful we are to the fans for the way they have backed us already. "Not just at the start of this season but the way they have helped us through our difficult times at the end of the last campaign.

"Their support has been magnificent and I think everyone would agree that the closer the Ricoh is to capacity, the better the atmosphere which has a positive impact on the players.

"The Bristol City and Newcastle matches are two very big games for the club and it would be great to see as many of our fans in the ground as possible.

"I realise the Newcastle game is on TV next week so there may be a tendancy for some people to watch at home but it would be great if they decided to come up to the Ricoh instead. "It's definitely the biggest game the club has been involved in since moving here in 2005, so we'd really like to get close to a full house.

"That's why we have kept the adult ticket prices down to £20 for this match. "We understand that we are not in a bubble - the current economic circumstances are affecting our supporters just like the rest of the population. So we are doing all we can to make it affordable as possible for supporters to attend both games as we look to build on a positive start."
