Paper Links Dowie To Leicester Job
According to the Sun, Iain Dowie has emereged as a candidate for the manager's job at Leicester City. The article reads: "IAIN DOWIE has emerged as a shock front-runner to take over as Leicester manager. The Coventry boss is already unhappy with his board, less than three months after filling the Ricoh Arena hotseat.
The Foxes' new owner Milan Mandaric is a long-term admirer of Dowie and approached Crystal Palace for his services while supremo at Portsmouth.
It could see the former Northern Ireland striker in his FOURTH manager's job in less than 12 months. He is locked in a court battle with Palace chairman Simon Jordan over his reasons for leaving Palace for Charlton last May.
Paul Ince, boss at Macclesfield, and former Fulham manager Chris Coleman have also been linked with the Leicester job."
This comes days after Paul Fletcher said that Iain Dowie was going nowhere and denied any friction saying. "There is no friction whatsoever between the manager and the board - particularly regarding the size of the transfer budget because that has not been decided yet.
"We won't know how much money will be available until the deal is completed but there will be money for Iain to spend and he knows that. "I am not even going to comment on the figures that are being bandied around and to suggest that Iain will walk away is utter nonsense. After just three months in the job it is disrespectful to him.
"Iain is very happy at Coventry. He knew it was not going to be a walk in the park and he knew it was going to be a tough job. "If it wasn't a tough job then Iain would not be here wanting to do it. He is a fantastic young manager who is ambitious and he will turn the club around.
